WHAT: A slumber party meets hack-a-thon designed to engage, inspire and celebrate high school women and their potential in technology.
WHO: High school women in their junior or senior year are eligible to apply to be an It Girl and attend the Retreat.
As the long-term influences and cheerleaders of our It Girls, parents and high school counselors are encouraged to attend as well.
WHEN: Sunday, Nov. 10 – Monday, Nov. 11, 2013
WHERE: School of Information Studies (iSchool) at Syracuse University – Syracuse, New York
WHY: You want to change the world. With technology, it’s more than possible; it’s happening. If you want to be a part of that, you’re an It Girl.
The it Girls Overnight Retreat offers It Girls the opportunity to:
- engage with current students studying technology,
- connect with mentors from tech corporations and academia,
- gain exposure to and skills in computing and IT by participating in collaborative workshops,
- find peers with common interests and aspirations, and
- HAVE FUN in a safe and encouraging setting as they explore the world’s most creative and innovative industry
